Some loo rolls and empty milk cartons can be used to give your deep rooted vegetables an easier start in life.
- Save your loo rolls or make some tubes out of 3 sheets of paper stapled top and bottom.
- Cut a 2 litre milk carton in half.
- Use the bottom part of the milk carton to then contain several of the loo roll tubes.
- Sow deep rooted vegetables (such as beans) into the tubes.
- Once grown, plant directly into the soil from the container so as to not disturb the roots.
- Re-use the plastic container for your next batch.
