Join us for a day out in Middle of February to see over 600 different species of Snowdrops and cultivars carpeting the grounds at Thenford Arboretum.
The extensive gardens, walled gardens sculpture gardens and medieval ponds have gradually been restored and extended by Lord and Lady Heseltine over the last 25 years. Mid February there are very limited open days in which to see the glorious drifts of snowdrops now flourishing among the trees and along the garden paths.
We have an afternoon time slot reserved at Thenford and I am advised that there are facilities for hot drinks and cakes etc in a marquee.
We will be calling at a large Blue Diamond Garden Centre complex with all the usual concessions and a café/restaurant in Bicester for coffee and or lunch arriving about 10.30 and leaving 12.30pm. Unfortunately they do not start serving lunch until 12.00pm so it will be difficult to get hot lunch in time. However they serve soup, baguettes, salads, baked potatoes and sides of hot chips from 11.00am.
