Loo roll vegetable seed growing containers

Some loo rolls and empty milk cartons can be used to give your deep rooted vegetables an easier start in life.

  1. Save your loo rolls or make some tubes out of 3 sheets of paper stapled top and bottom.
  2. Cut a 2 litre milk carton in half.
  3. Use the bottom part of the milk carton to then contain several of the loo roll tubes.
  4. Sow deep rooted vegetables (such as beans) into the tubes.
  5. Once grown, plant directly into the soil from the container so as to not disturb the roots.
  6. Re-use the plastic container for your next batch.
